Microsoft Warns of Retirement for Windows 7 RTM

If you are still using Windows 7 RTM, Microsoft wants to let you know that all support for that version will be retired on April 9th. The date marks the end of support only; the operating system will continue to run and operate as usual.

Windows 7 RTM support may be about to end, but that's not true for Windows 7 overall. Microsoft has committed to support the OS with non-security bug fixes and security patches until Jan. 13, 2015
